The Void is many things, but it is never nothing, raising an interesting philosophical point about the nature of nothing and the ontological paradox of nothing,...

The Interview

nijes aka Gabor Tomasi, Featured Artist for Muse

Justin says: Okay, so are you ready to start this thing?
Gabor says: Yap, I am
Justin says:
Okay cool. Let's start off with the basics.
Justin says:
Where are you from?
Gabor says: Germany, unfortunately. Don't like this country, neither the politics here. I'm planning to move one day in another country. Probably something like Austira.
Justin says:
I see.
Justin says:
How long have you been doing digital-art, and what do you use to create your work?
Gabor says: Seriously, I can't remember when I started with it. But I would say that my active time started like 1 1/2-2 years ago, even when wasn't active in any digital-art communities or something. Just tried my own stuff and to find my own style. I use almost everything I know, or at least I try everything. I don't want to stuck with one program, and try to learn every single screen design software.
Gabor says: Hard way to go and after a while you realize that especially digital-art is something where you will every day learn something new. That's what I like about it.
Justin says:
That's good to work with all different programs I think
Justin says:
Do you remember how you got involved in digital-art
Gabor says: Some day I saw these pretty images as signatures in different Forums and I wanted to make something like this. So I started to make my first terrible graphics. It was kinda confusing and hard to understand at first, so I broke it after a while. But then the wish to make something great like that came up again and I tried harder to improve myself. So and here I am.
Justin says:
What do you like to do for fun, besides digital art?
Gabor says: hard to say. Digital art is a part of my life and I spend much time with it. It's almost like my only "hobby". It keeps me up and every time I see that I know a bit more about it I'm glad. But except digital art I love music. Not making it, but listening to. It's like a way to show my feelings and this, even when it's a bit scary, makes me "happy".
Justin says:
Yeah, music is one of my major influences in my art. So I can see where your coming from.
Justin says:
So, how does it feel to be the featured artist for EvokeOne's fifth exhibition, muse?
Gabor says: I'm proud about that "title". There are other artists that are good enough to become the featured artist also, for sure. The way I joined EvokeOne was a bit difficult, what makes me proud again that I'm the featured artist of the first pack where I've been real active. By the way, thanks for it
Justin says:
No problem : )
Gabor says: Hehe
Justin says:
So, is there anything else that you'd like to tell about yourself?
Gabor says: About me? I'm not an interesting person. Just like everyone else with some dreams and wishes and problems. Nothing special
Justin says:
Haha
Justin says:
What would you say to someone if they wanted to be as good as you or others? What would you tell him/her?
Justin says:
In other words, what advice would you give someone who is starting out?
Gabor says: Just try it and don't give up, even when it seems to be hard sometimes. There is nothing you could not learn with the time. Just take a look to some art communities and others’ art. That will help a lot, try to imagine how they could make it and try it yourself. And one important thing I had to learn was that arts need time, much time sometimes. Spend more time on them, the details, quality etc.
Gabor says: and it will be much better
Justin says:
Good advice.
Justin says:
The hard part’s over So.. hm, do you have any pets?
Gabor says: No, but I always wanted to have a cat. I love them, they are just lovely hehe. Who doesn't like to cuddle with them all the time?
Justin says:
Haha, yes, you're right
Justin says:
Do you have a portfolio at the moment?
Gabor says: At least a portfolio in process. My first real try to make a pure-flash site. You'll find it under www.7souls.net/Flash - it isn't finished yet, but the most important parts are online.
Justin says:
Well, I guess this about sums it up!
Justin says:
Thanks for the interview man
Gabor says: No problem
Justin says:
keep pumping out those awesome pieces!
Gabor says: I'll try. Already working on some stuff, some of my first real tries to model something. They will take a while but I hope I'm good enough to finish them.
Justin says:
You will
Justin says:
Thanks, see you around.
Gabor says: Bye
